  ℤ buys the Genesis disc from Möbius Studio and the Concerto subspace is created
  The Concerto's own chronology says ℤ bought the Genesis disc from Möbius Studio in 150 A.P. and the subspace was created then, in the middle of the Dragon Palace Era.
  This is earlier than the official sale of the Genesis disc (160) and the beta approval (156/08/31), so the sources disagree. The chronology runs on A.P. and the Tower's eras (Dragon Palace, Central Palace and so on), so it is dated on the Tower calendar.

  Finding the Ark's navigator at Dusk Base
  On the third day of their investigation team, Geopelia and Clear follow Ark I's log to Dusk Base, an artificial planet and old Rainbow War battlefield, where a stranded space liner has polluted its surroundings and given the base a sea it never had. Clear says the whim at the source, the Ark's navigator, is still aboard. They find Samuelle, a mind-reading girl of thirteen or fourteen with white plastic hair, and Geopelia invites her to leave and join the Unified Governance Administration, with Clear calling Geopelia 'Agent Diamond Princess' and she calling him 'Agent Justice'.

  Geopelia records a strange valley wind that cuts off when 'an outsider' breaks in; deathMark's stave speaks of spring calling the dove home and of two meeting on the peak of Sierra. Per the wiki, Gino of Team VII found the amnesiac Geopelia while patrolling Mount Sierra. She carries the Alpa recorder pen, with the names Geopelia and Peregrinus engraved on the back.

  Reality: a butterfly in New Zhengzhou
  Waking in her bedroom in reality, Geopelia whispers 'liar'; the e-paper on her quilt carries the headline 'Surface Exploration Team Stricken by Severe Earthquake, One Dead, Several Injured'. The mechanical butterfly flies out the door and she chases it into the streets of New Zhengzhou, where she loses it. Then a familiar voice asks whether this is her butterfly: it is Gino.

  Earth: the space boom and a mother's farewell
  In the mid-21st century the ‘Steam’ engine appears and a vanguard sets out to open up five Earth-like planets. Young Gino gives his departing mother an ice-coloured lotus hairclip he made himself; she says she will be back in ten years, and ‘if I'm not back by then, come and find me’. Grown up, Gino works on ‘synchronous linking of the human brain and a satellite’ at Exoverse Lab #3; he puts on the EEG helmet and everything goes dark.

  Kemiliya: the vanguard abandoned, Driftstar arrives
  Ten thousand years before the story, the vanguard lands on a planet covered in camellia-like trees and names it Kemiliya, after the camellia, but a camellia compound in the air forms fractal clouds at altitude that swallow their survey planes and cut off space communications. Headquarters has four other candidate planets and won't spend more here, and Gino's mother sighs, ‘So we've been abandoned after all.’ Three hundred years later Bassareus drops like a meteor beside the derelict ship, and its pilot tells the frightened locals: ‘From today I run this place; you can call me Driftstar.’

  Peregrinus's notebook: memories of the surface expedition
  Gino remembers an expedition with Peregrinus, officially his partner and adviser, who scribbled in a paper notebook on every break (only a pigeon could read it, he joked) and often slipped off alone to search buildings. On a cliff after the snow stopped, Peregrinus pointed at a half-collapsed building that had once housed thousands of AIs and said it became collateral damage of the world war after the ice age came, destroyed by people, but when asked where the AIs are now he didn't go on. After Peregrinus disappeared, Gino did not find the notebook among his belongings.

Riding the motorbike Trophon across the Sky Dome layer, Geopelia and Gino hit an error they have never seen and head home. No one can say how long it has been since they reunited, and the Vault has changed a lot, perhaps because of the Mazarine. Back at the house Geopelia opens her terminal, sees something that thrills and puzzles her, and tells Gino to check his.

Wander and Rest
The house is a three-storey fragment of a larger building, covered in creeper, and with no spare power cells they charge Trophon from the house's supply, since its parts are fine and it has simply run out of power. Geopelia leans in the doorway watching the black hole. The only area left to patrol lies in that direction, so Gino walks on ahead and tells her to follow on the bike once it has charged.

Gino recovers the replacement data
Clutching the replacement data Broken Data Research gave him, Gino walks into the tall grass: his last task for the group is to recall the replacement data it launched earlier, deleting the 'virus' from its hosts' brains and erasing the group's tracks. Among the noise it draws in, one strand bursts open and he understands the memory inside. On the night after an earthquake, with a research institute's staff evacuated to an open field, two researchers testing radios talk about minds as distant as stars, about brain-linking shifting exploitation from labour to the body, and about how in a war fought by minds alone victory belongs to no one.

Geopelia and the Peregrinus she made
Sitting among old objects on the floor, Geopelia cannot recall her brother Peregrinus's past. In the Pixel Tower she once made a new 'Peregrinus' out of her memories of him, but he has since been polluted beyond recognition into an independent person, and she has given up keeping him in existence. Far off she sees Gino and, at the edge of the sky, the ruin of a building where her memory of Peregrinus becomes oddly clear, so she gets on the bike and follows.

The camp and Peregrinus's notebook
Gino finds Geopelia by the campfire of a snowed-in tent camp, holding the one thing she found there: Peregrinus's notebook. She asks whether her brother was here, and Gino admits they once camped here and that Peregrinus slipped off alone one night toward the distant buildings, after which their superiors ordered everyone to stay away. Geopelia wants to go and see, and Gino goes with her.

Geopelia asks herself whether she resents him, just because the figure who should have appeared at the door that day was him instead of her brother, though he has been so good to her. For hundreds of years she has tried to find something in him before he awoke, even posing as 'Peregrinus' to get close, and she wonders what he thought once he remembered.

The Answer: the black hole swallows the Vault
As the two turn back to the bike, the black hole strikes without a sound: in the gale and the quake the building collapses further, the ground breaks apart, and the notebook's pages fly away. Gravity pulls Geopelia into the sky while Gino clings to the bike and shouts that it's time to wake from the dream, that the black hole will show her the past, her brother's trail and her true self, and that he will come and find her. They let go, a soundless, invisible force takes Geopelia and floods the Sky Dome layer, and as their house breaks into points of light she falls into deep space.

Entrance to the Chaos and the Noise Field
In front of a graveyard of dead stars, Geopelia kicks off a piece of space junk and leaps into the black hole, and after a white flash she realises she is falling back through the Pixel Tower. As the pull carrying her weakens, points of light flood over her, 'noise' that looks like collectibles but cannot be understood. She decides to avoid them and get through quickly.

Forging the path to victory
The points of light knot into a net with the black hole as the only landmark, and Geopelia starts stirring and sorting the sea of signals, telling herself not to run but to face it and crush it. Her greatsword splits a murky hound-like monster, and in the colours that pour out she sees her past in the Tower and in reality as the wall of tangled signals behind it shatters. She lands on glowing, mirror-like ground and reaches for something falling from the sky.

Farewell on the platform
At the edge of the sky the Mazarine is swallowing this makeshift world when a train pulls in and Peregrinus steps off to tell Geopelia it is time to go: separation lasts only a moment, people will meet again in the world called reality, and her story has only just begun. A mechanical butterfly lands on her hand, and she remembers that she will never see her brother again. He tells her to live on no matter what, then turns into countless butterflies.
